It began with a book
on a metro ride home.

Before the podcast, before the conferences, Shivam Arya was trying to sell books on the street. After a week without a sale, he opened a children's encyclopaedia on the journey home. Reading it changed the way he spoke about it. The next day, he sold every copy he carried.

That experience led him through hundreds of books, a year of travel and conversations with people across India. Diary of a Publisher became a way to listen and learn in public. As the questions became sharper, it evolved into Defence Reimagined: a home for serious, accessible conversations about India's national security.
